Qui Sommes-Nous

Accountability to Communities

Listening, Responding and Learning

Accountability is an essential part of responsible humanitarian action.

WAP seeks to provide communities and other stakeholders with appropriate channels to communicate with the organization, provide feedback, make complaints and raise concerns.

Our accountability framework is intended to support accessible and responsible mechanisms relating to community feedback, programme complaints, safeguarding, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), suspected fraud or corruption, misconduct and whistleblowing.

Sensitive concerns are intended to be handled through appropriate confidential and restricted processes.

Putting Our Values Into Practice

Our values are intended to influence more than the language we use.

They should be reflected, as appropriate, in:

As WAP develops its institutional systems, these values provide a common foundation for responsible behaviour and decision-making across the organization.

Procurement and financial management
Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning
Communications and responsible use of information
Governance and organizational decision-making
Leadership and Humanitarian Responsibility

Decisions That Affect People

Leadership decisions in humanitarian organizations can directly or indirectly affect communities experiencing crisis and vulnerability. WAP therefore seeks to ensure that leadership decision-making considers:

Humanitarian Need

Understanding the needs and vulnerabilities that programmes seek to address.

Human Dignity

Respecting the dignity and agency of people affected by humanitarian crises.

Protection and Safety

Considering potential risks to communities, staff and other stakeholders.

Community Perspectives

Listening to relevant community feedback and experience.

Do No Harm

Considering possible unintended consequences of organizational decisions and interventions.

Responsabilité

Taking responsibility for decisions, actions and results.
Technical and Knowledge Partnerships

Learning Through Collaboration

Partnerships can also strengthen knowledge and institutional capacity.

WAP may collaborate with appropriate organizations or institutions to strengthen:

Knowledge partnerships should ultimately contribute to stronger organizational practice and better humanitarian programming.

Structure With Purpose

An organizational chart shows how functions are connected. Effective organizational structure goes further—it clarifies responsibility, strengthens coordination and makes accountability possible. WAP seeks to maintain a structure capable of supporting its people, programmes and institutional responsibilities as the organization continues to develop.
